What is WP Maintain?
WP Maintain is an infrastructure-grade WordPress maintenance platform built for web hosts. It enables proactive monitoring, safe updates, and proof-of-care reporting across your WordPress customer base, without relying on customers to manage maintenance themselves.
Who is WP Maintain for?
WP Maintain is designed for:
Hosting operations teams
Support teams

Technical agencies

What is mAIn Chat?
mAIn Chat is an intelligent WordPress support co-pilot built into WP Maintain. It connects your choice of AI model — Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini — directly to your WP Maintain data, giving hosting teams and their customers instant, site-specific insight. With site-level data at their fingertips, support staff can diagnose issues faster, reduce escalations, and prevent problems before they become tickets.
How does WP Maintain reduce support tickets?
WP Maintain helps detect and prevent common WordPress issues such as failed updates, downtime, security risks before customers notice them. By resolving issues earlier and providing full site context, support teams spend significantly less time reacting to escalations and repeat tickets.
Do customers need to opt in or install anything?
No. WP Maintain is typically preinstalled or enabled at the hosting level. Sites are automatically or bulk enrolled in [WP] Care, and maintenance runs quietly in the background only exposing clean reports to customers.

Are reports sent to customers automatically?
No. WP Maintain does not send emails to end customers by default.
Reports are generated at the site level and can be:
Viewed internally by support teams
Embedded inside your hosting dashboard (WP Care area via drop-in HMTL embed)
Exported or sent by the host using their own systems (e.g. WHMCS, email tool, etc)
Optional: Use our email system
You remain in full control of customer communication.
What do reports contain?
Reports summarize maintenance activity over a time period, such as:
Monitoring status
Plugins/themes updated
Incidents detected or prevented
Site health signals
Completed tasks
Product recommendations (upsells)
And more
They serve as proof of proactive care, not marketing emails. Your customers have full peace of mind.
How are sites provisioned into WP Maintain?
Sites can be registered automatically when a new WordPress site with hosting plan is provisioned. It is up to the host. No manual enrollment or per-site setup is required. However, per-site manual enrollment is available.
Does WP Maintain integrate with WordPress hosts?
Yes. WP Maintain is designed to integrate cleanly with all WordPress hosting environments. Hosts can bulk install WP Maintain on WordPress sites and surface proof-of-care directly inside the panel or email tooling.
Can WP Maintain be used without selling Care to customers?
Yes. Many hosts deploy WP Maintain purely as a support enablement and cost-reduction layer, without selling Care initially. Upsells to higher-tier Care can be introduced later when appropriate.
Is WP Maintain secure?
Yes. WP Maintain is lightweight, WordPress-native, and designed with a modern surface area. It avoids unnecessary user data, does not manage customer identities by default, and follows an infra-first security model.
How long does it take to deploy?
Most hosts can integrate WP Maintain in hours, not weeks, depending on provisioning flow and panel integration.
Can we customize reporting and behavior?
Yes. WP Maintain provides sensible defaults out of the box. Advanced hosts can customize report templates, cadences, and integrations—but customization is optional, not required.
How can WP Maintain be offered through hosting plans?
Hosts can include WP Maintain directly in specific hosting plans (for example, higher-tier or managed WordPress plans). When a customer purchases that plan, WP Maintain is automatically preinstalled and activated on their site, and proactive maintenance begins immediately—no customer setup required.
Can customers enable WP Maintain from their hosting panel?
Yes. Hosts can also surface WP Maintain inside their hosting control panel or dashboard using a simple opt-in to the product. Customers can enable maintenance for an existing site with a single toggle, without migrating plans or contacting support. It is entirely up to the host on how to present this their end users.
Can existing customers be enrolled in WP Maintain?
Yes. Hosts can bulk-enable WP Maintain across existing WordPress sites—by plan, server, or customer segment. This is can be used to reduce support load and improve site stability across the entire platform.
Do customers need to install plugins or configure anything?
No. WP Maintain is installed and managed at the hosting level. Customers do not need to log into WordPress, install plugins, or manage settings. Similarly, approved agencies may install the connector plugin for their customers.
What happens once WP Maintain is enabled?
Once enabled, the site is automatically enrolled in WP Care. Monitoring, safe updates, and reporting run continuously in the background, and reports are visible in the hosting panel.
Can hosts offer upgrades to higher-tier Care?
Yes. Hosts can optionally offer higher-tier Care plans serviced by Seahawk PSP that include more human support and intervention. These upgrades can be bundled into hosting plans or offered inside the control panel when needed.
How are legacy PHP sites protected while they wait?
Through the WP Care plan the site is already on. Every enrolled legacy site gets malware scanning, safe plugin, theme and core updates, backups with rollback, uptime monitoring and PHP version monitoring, so the application layer stays current even while the runtime is not. WP Care+ adds virtual patching and malware removal, which shields known exploit paths in plugins and themes, where the overwhelming majority of WordPress compromises actually enter. The monthly Proof-of-Care report carries a legacy PHP section for the site showing its exposure, what blocks the upgrade and where it sits in the queue. Nothing extra is purchased, nothing is cancelled later, and the day the site moves to a supported PHP version the legacy section disappears and the plan continues as it was.
Do you patch PHP itself?
No, and that’s deliberate. Manufacturing security patches for dead runtimes forever is the model we reject; it monetizes sites staying old. WP Care shields the site at the application layer, through scanning, malware monitoring and virtual patching on WP Care+, which is where the overwhelming majority of WordPress compromises actually originate, while the site moves toward a supported runtime. Protection is the waiting room. The upgrade is the destination.
How does the Extended PHP to WP Care conversion work?
You enroll your extended PHP fleet on WP Maintain. We audit every site and sort it into a lane. Sites that can be upgraded in place are upgraded, and as each one comes current you change the billing SKU from extended PHP to WP Care at the same price. The customer gets a maintained, monitored, current site and does nothing. You keep the revenue.
Is the PHP upgrade really included?
For hosting partners on WPM+ with a volume agreement, yes. Minor fixes on WP Care, code patches on WP Care+, on every enrolled legacy site, with a 12-month enrollment. Sites that need heavy refactoring or a rebuild are quoted through Pro Services before any work starts. On WPM, your team performs the upgrades or purchases them from Pro Services at partner rates.
How do I know which sites will upgrade cleanly?
The fleet audit. Send us your legacy PHP list, we audit a sample free, and you get a report showing what share upgrades cleanly, what share needs code patches, and what share should be rebuilt, with projected hours. You see the numbers before you commit to anything.
What do I report to my leadership?
One funnel per PHP version: Legacy PHP Sites, Upgraded, Rebuild Candidates, Remaining Opportunity. It shows the legacy count falling on a schedule and tells you when a version can be retired outright. On WPM+ we prepare it for your QBR.
Is troubleshooting included?
Every tier includes platform context and AI-assisted diagnosis through Site Chat. Human-resolved, SLA-backed troubleshooting is delivered in WP Care Pro and above through Seahawk’s Pro Services Platform, tracked in Tickets and Tasks and shown in Proof-of-Care reports.
