mAIn MCP · Agent-based Care

Let AI agents run WordPress Care, safely

Connect MCP-compatible assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, plus browser agents, to every WordPress site you manage. Agents read live site data, and every change they make runs through staging, regression tests and automatic rollback before it reaches production.

Claude · connected to mAIn MCP Live fleet data

YouUpdate WooCommerce on every site where the confidence score is high.

  1. Found 142 sites with a pending WooCommerce update. 139 scored high confidence.
  2. Created staging copies and applied the update to 139 sites.
  3. Visual regression: 137 passed, 2 show a changed checkout layout.
  4. Promoted 137 sites to production, each with a snapshot.
  5. Held 2 sites on staging for review, with screenshots of the difference.

The shift

Care is moving from dashboards to agents

AI agents are moving from novelty to operator. The question is not whether your customers will use agents on their WordPress sites. It is whether that access will be safe, controlled and auditable.

  1. 01 Yesterday

    Manual care

Tickets, shared logins and someone clicking through wp-admin, one site at a time.

  2. 02 Today

    Automated care

Scheduled, bulk and safe updates across the fleet, proven with a monthly report.

  3. 03 Now arriving

    Agent-based care

Customers and support teams ask in plain language. Agents do the work, and WP Maintain makes sure it is safe.

“AI will not ignore WordPress. As the most mature and widely adopted open-source CMS in the world, built by credible developers over decades, WordPress represents structured, durable infrastructure.”

Ryan, Co-Founder of WP Maintain

The architecture

Every agent, one control layer

Agents never touch production directly. Whatever the channel, the request goes through WP Maintain’s control layer and execution pipeline.

1 · Agents

  • MCP assistants Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and more
  • mAIn Chat Your model, in your dashboard
  • Site SMS line Clients text a change
  • Browser agents Computer use, Operator, OpenClaw

2 · WP Maintain control layer

Identity

Dedicated agent users and time-limited sessions. No passwords in chat.

Scope

Permissions per site and per session, only what the task needs.

Context

Live health, updates, incidents and monitoring for every site.

Audit

Which agent, which site, when, what role and what it did.

3 · Execution

  1. Safe staging The change runs on a copy first
  2. Confidence score Risk rated before anything ships
  3. Regression test Key pages compared visually
  4. Production Promoted with a snapshot
  5. Auto-rollback Restored if a check fails

Your WordPress fleet

Without WP Maintain: Agent → Production. With WP Maintain: Agent → Control layer → Staging → Regression validation → Production.

What agents can do

Ask about the fleet. Act on it safely.

Read

Answers from live fleet data

Health signals, update history, incident logs, uptime and PHP versions for every site.

  • “Which sites are still on PHP 7.4, and what blocks their upgrade?”
  • “Which sites went down this week, and for how long?”
  • “Which pending updates have a low confidence score?”
  • “Summarize the care we did on example.com this month for the customer.”

Act

Changes through the control layer

Scoped to the sites and permissions you grant, staged and validated before production.

  • “Update WooCommerce on every site where the confidence score is high.”
  • “Upgrade these 20 sites to PHP 8.3 on staging and show me what breaks.”
  • “Roll back the theme update on example-bakery.com.”
  • “Fix the broken contact form on the Acme site, staged first.”

Guardrails

Access without guardrails is operational risk

Agents working straight on production cause plugin conflicts, broken deployments, SEO misconfiguration and database damage. That means more tickets and thinner margins. These guardrails are built in.

One controlled login

A single, controlled authentication path across every site in the fleet.

Staging-only execution

Agents change a staging copy. Production only receives validated changes.

Confidence scoring

Bulk changes are scored for risk before they run.

Regression testing

Automated visual checks catch layout breaks before customers do.

Snapshot orchestration

Every promotion is backed by a snapshot to return to.

Auto-rollback

A failed check restores the site without waiting for a human.

Expiring sessions

Access ends with the task. No lingering tokens in an agent’s memory.

Full audit visibility

Every agent session and action, across the fleet, in one log.

More than a connector

An MCP connector gives agents access. WP Maintain makes it safe.

Connecting an assistant to WordPress is the easy part. Making its changes safe on thousands of sites is the infrastructure.

For hosts

Offer AI-driven care without the risk

As hosts give customers AI agents for content, SEO and site tasks, a safe execution layer becomes mandatory. WP Maintain is that layer, starting with WordPress.

labor across support and care operations
Fewer

mAIn MCP questions

What is mAIn MCP?

mAIn MCP connects AI assistants to the WordPress sites you manage in WP Maintain. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor use to connect to other tools. Through it, an assistant reads your fleet’s live data and requests changes, and every change goes through WP Maintain’s control layer and execution pipeline.

Do agents get our passwords or our customers’ passwords?

No. Agents act through dedicated agent users and time-limited sessions created by WP Maintain’s single sign-on. No passwords pass through chat, no credentials sit in an agent’s memory, and access ends when the task does.

Can an agent break a production site?

Agent changes run on a staging copy first. They are scored for risk, checked with visual regression tests, and promoted with a snapshot. If a check fails, the site rolls back automatically. We still recommend watching new agents closely until their workflows are dialed in.

How is this different from mAIn Chat?

mAIn Chat is the support co-pilot inside WP Maintain. It connects your choice of Claude, OpenAI or Gemini to site-level data and answers questions without anyone logging into WordPress. mAIn MCP and AI Agent Access Control are for agents that take action. All of them share the same data, identity and audit layer.

What about agents that use a browser?

Browser-controlling agents such as Claude computer use, OpenAI Operator and OpenClaw get scoped, expiring sessions into wp-admin through AI Agent Access Control, the same infrastructure that gives your support team one-click login. Their work is logged like every other agent’s.

How do customers request changes by text?

Every site on a WP Care plan can get a dedicated phone number. Customers text a change in plain English, and the agent carries it out through the same controlled path: staging, validation, then production.

Why can’t hosts build this into their panel?

Hosting panels are identity and provisioning layers, not controlled execution engines. Replicating this means building staging enforcement, update diff validation, regression testing, rollback orchestration, confidence scoring and an AI audit framework. That is a dedicated infrastructure product, not a feature toggle.
