WP Maintain’s email OAuth integration lets you connect a Gmail or Microsoft mailbox. It sends outbound email through that account, so you no longer need to rely on SMTP alone.
How the Email OAuth Integration Works
You connect a Gmail or Microsoft mailbox with OAuth. The sign-in happens with Google or Microsoft. As a result, there is no SMTP setup to copy across. WP Maintain then uses that mailbox for outbound email, such as ticket updates from Tickets & Tasks and scheduled Proof-of-Care Reports. In short, you sign in once and WP Maintain handles the rest. Your email provider handles the sign-in, and WP Maintain handles the sending.
SMTP Still Works
SMTP remains available. OAuth is an additional way to connect. Therefore, existing SMTP setups keep working as they are. Nothing about your current configuration is removed, and teams can choose whichever method suits each setup.
Why Use the Email OAuth Integration
Signing in with Google or Microsoft is quicker than entering SMTP details by hand. It also fits teams that already run their email on Gmail or Microsoft. In short, the email OAuth integration removes a setup step and keeps outbound email tied to an account your team already uses. For teams that manage many mailboxes, that means fewer details to track by hand.
Who the Email OAuth Integration Is For
The email OAuth integration suits hosts and agencies that send customer email from a Gmail or Microsoft account. These teams keep one familiar sender address. Meanwhile, WP Maintain keeps monitoring, updates and backups running in the background, so the mailbox connection is one less thing to manage. Because the connection uses OAuth, the sign-in stays with Google or Microsoft, so your team keeps working in tools it already knows.
To get started, open the Integrations tab in WP Maintain and connect your mailbox. Then, if you would like to see how it fits your setup, book a demo.
